Flava Packs’ Rice and Peas Recipe
Serves 4 as a side
Prep Time: 5mins (+marinating)

Cooking Time: 20mins
IngrEdients
200g White Rice (Washed & Drained)
400g Tinned Black Beans (drained but save the liquid)
400ml water (added to the drained liquid)
1 knob of hard coconut cream
4 knobs of unsalted butter
3 Tsp Flava Packs JERK Seasoning
Sliced Scallion (spring onion)
Method
Place a 2 knob of butter, the Jerk seasoning and the spring onions in a saucepan over a medium heat for 2mins
Add the drained black beans, season with salt, stir and cover for 3mins
Once softened, add the rice another knob of butter, then stir and leave for 3mins
Add the coconut cream and water. Cover and leave
Once it has come to a boil, place on a lower heat and leave for 10-12mins. Or until all the liquid has been absorbed
Remove from heat
Season with salt and stir in the remaining butter
Garnish with spring onion
